However - I doubt whether the data loss is really visible or relevant for any users, except in extreme cases of (for example) astrophotography. The biggest advantages of &quot;shooting raw&quot; are present in both schemes.</description>

		<description>I have found an excellent article by Emil Martinec who found that 14bit lossy NEF files seem to have a bout 2750 levels.
